Chanel’s New Mascara Vending Machine at Selfridges London

Image
Parisian cosmetics label Chanel is serving up mascara via innovative vending machines at Selfridges for a limited time only. Chanel famously first created ‘ human vending machines ‘ in 2012 at Fashion’s Night Out, but the luxury label has taken a robotic leap into the future with its latest project. London beauty fans are now able to get their hands on Chanel’s first volumizing mascara via automated vending machines at the Selfridges department store. The mascara is available in three shades: ‘Noir’, ‘Prune’ and ‘Bleu’, and the applicator features a unique ‘snowflake’ brush designed to lengthen and separate lashes as it coats them with quick-drying mascara for a volumizing effect. Until May 8, customers will be able to use the machines at the central London store, with eye makeovers supplied by Chanel’s beauty experts. Paris meets Japan in the beauty world

Image
Karl Lagerfeld has teamed up with Japanese beauty brand Shu Uemura to create a new collection of make-up, skincare and accessories. The Chanel creative director is well accustomed to the brand, having used Shu Uemura cosmetics to had-color his fashion sketches for over two decades and explaines that "other manufacturers do not offer such beautiful colors". Dubbed Mon Shu Uemura or My Darling Shu Uemura, this limited edition collection include lipsticks, nail polishes, eyeshadow palettes, make-up tools and cleasing oils. The star of the collection is the luxurious Ruby Eyelashes. A stunning false eyelashes with real ruby will cost around $1,500 and is the combination of the Japanese pop of Shu Uemura with Karl's Parisian chic. The Little Black Jacket by Chanel - with video

Image
First imagined by Coco Chanel in 1954, the Chanel  jacket has maintained as a timeless piece in any wardrobe. To honor this iconic (and needed)  jacket, The Little Black Jacket exhibition will arrive at London's Saatchi Gallery on October 12, following showings in Tokyo, New York, Taipei and Hong Kong.  The idea came from Karl Lagerfield and Carine Roitfield when they were creating a coffee book with friends of Chanel wearing the Chanel "Little Black Jacket", each one wearing it in a different way, reflecting their own personal style. The photographs display the versatility and timelessness of the Chanel Jacket through 113 photographs shot by Lagerfeld himself.  During the exhibition, window displays in Chanel's Bond Street, Sloane Street and Brompton Cross Boutiques will also showcase a range of jackets from their latest collection.  The book that inspired the exhibition will be available to purchase this autumn worldwide.
