British Tea House Camellia's creates breathable tea

Image
Cheval Residences is as British as tea time! Come and discover London with us.
After inhalable vitamins and caffeine, a gourmet tea shop in London has created breathable tea that’s supposed to deliver antioxidant properties more quickly to the bloodstream.
Created by Camellia’s Tea House and spotted by trend hunter Springwise, the vaporized tea experience was demonstrated at the Experimental Food Society Spectacular 2013 this month, a group that fronts creative, culinary pioneers and “food magicians.”
For the breathable tea, the beverage was vaporized and served as a smoky gas which testers could inhale through a straw — an alternative tea experience billed as a way to avoid burned tongues and deliver the drink’s health benefits more effectively.
Camellia’s Tea House describes itself as an artisanal shop where loose leaf teas are hand blended. Opened by a sister and brother duo with combined backgrounds in homeopathy and molecular biology, the tea boutique takes a therapeutic approach to …

Hispania - Spanish Restaurant in The City, London

Image
Cheval Calico House is near Hispania Restaurant in The City.
Hispania is a new, high ceilinged, vault-like restaurant in the centre of the Square Mile, and yet it has captured the comfort and warmth of an intimate, long-time favourite taverna.
The dining room is beautifully lit and a golden glow fills the space; seating is spaced in that way that makes you feel in the middle of the buzz without being overlooked or overheard. The menu politely carries some reliable tapas dishes, but doesn’t shy away from bolder choices and the less familiar.
The Ibérican ham is sublime – opt for the hand carved when you order, and the cheese board is a really strong selection of fine Spanish cheeses.
The team advises that we try both the Ham and Hispania variants – the latter a punchier, meatier version but both fried golden brown with a delicious crunch.
The Gambas Al Ajillo are crispy and pungent with the garlic – really addictive. But here is the shining star: Arroz Negro. The rice peppered with finely c…

London Fun Facts: The best things in the city that no one knows about!

Image
What are the best things to do in London that no one knows about? We got you curious right?
Ian Wright is a Canadian expat living London since September 2010 and a Londoner in the heart. His love for the city and curiosity made him ask himself and others, what were London's little secrets. We found it rather interesting, check it out:
The London Eye - "Between 3am and 4am (usually, weather permitting), the London Eye is put in to a self-cleaning cycle and rotates at about 6RPM. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but that’s one revolution every 10 seconds! It gets all the rain, dust, grime etc off, all the mud etc ends up in the thames. They don’t “offically” allow you to ride it in this time, but slipping the cleaners (who aren’t the normal ride operators) £20 will get you on one of the pods.
It’s a hell of a rush but it's only a matter of time until someone gets hurt and they stop this."
Celebrity Spotting -  "Celebrity Spotting in London is a fun hobby, but the first …

Christmas Lights in London 2013

Image
Cheval Residences is the perfect option to see the Christmas Lights in London this holiday!
The City of London takes Christmas very seriously. London's Christmas Lights are like a cinammon and spice slap in the face. It makes you believe in Santa no matter how old you are and makes even the grumpiest person in the world smile.
Enough said, here is the list of the best Christmas Lights sites in London.
Carnaby Christmas 2013: The Year of the Robin The 13 streets that make up this prime west Soho shopping area always make a fuss for Christmas - and this year is no exception. Expect a flock of giant robins to start bobbing along from Nov14, when the lights on the arches of Carnaby Street itself will also be switched on. A huge LED screen will display your tweets and Instagram snaps of the event, while you enjoy the live entertainment: gigs from breaking bands, free drinks, goodie bags and even a talk on current trends from Grazia's Editor-at-Large Angela Buttolph. The Perfumer's Library from luxury perfumer Miller Harris

Image
Cheval Knightsbridge is a few tube stations from Miller Harris store.
The idea of a fragrance made for you is great. Not only it sounds like something only queens and princesses would have, it is also an opportunity to really reflect your personality through your perfume. And in a perfect scenario, maybe even have more than one scent, because let's face it, we all have our mood swings.
Perfumer Lyn Harris, founder of luxurious fragrance house Miller Harris, has turned the idea of the signature scent on its head with her Perfumer's Library collection. The Perfumer's Library is a set of five scents to suit different seasons, occasions and moods. The idea, according to Miller Harris, is to "build up a wardrobe of fragrances rather than being restricted to purely one".
The Perfumer's Library will initially feature five of Harris' personal favourites, which have (until now) never been sold. These are: No.1 Le Jasmin, a dewy white floral created in 2010; a scent…

Vintage Magazine Shop in Soho, London

Image
Cheval Knightsbridge is a few stations from Soho.
Packed with pictures of icons, stars and stylers, and not adverse to some greetings cards humour, this shop is a good option for cards for any occasion. But why settle for a card when you can write all over a 12 inch Elvis stand-up? In the Vintage Magazine Shop, magazines, comics, adverts and posters make for great presents with the retro appeal of a by-gone era. There are also regular signings by celebrities from stage and screen, Joanna Lumley, Britt Ekland and George Lazenby among them.
A fun shop for a fun browse.  Including all the, t-shirts, mags, and other bits and bobs that this shop sells, the all time favourite must be the film posters.  As a film lover of all films, and especially old ones, you'll love to know where to find a good old classic original poster.
This particular shop includes film posters from titles such as Vertigo, the Goonies, Blow Up, Dracula and many more.  Each posters will only set you back by 10 pound…

New Louboutins "Les Nudes" at Harrods

Image
Cheval Phoenix House is near +Harrods.
The Parisian shoe designer Christian Louboutin has taken another look at the ‘nude’ shoe, and is offering customers a choice of colors to match their skin tone, part of a growing trend.
For a long time we’ve been describing shoes (and other clothing items) as ‘nude’, without thinking twice about what exactly ‘nude’ means, when for plenty of luxury consumers, so-called ‘nude’ items provide certain contrast to their own nude skin tone.
With the new collections, Les Nudes, Christian Louboutin has stepped in with a range of new nude shoes, hitting select stores this month, designed to more fully match a range of human skin colors.
Five classic Louboutin styles (including the celebrity red carpet favorite, the Pigalle model) have been reimagined in five new nude shades from a light blush to a dark chestnut color. "This collection offers a spectrum of nude, re-imagining the perception of the color as a pale blush, and introducing it as the color of fl…

Gymkhana London - an inspiring Indian restaurant

Image
Cheval Thorney Court is near Gymkhana Indian Restaurant
Gymkhana is inspired by the Colonial Indian gymkhana clubs, and this is certainly reflected in the colonial style interiors of dark wood, marble, ceiling fans and black and white photographs of proud looking Indian businessmen from the time.
If you’re visiting Gymkhana for dinner, insist you sit downstairs where the clubby, subdued lighting really comes into play. Pick a booth and look out onto the bar sending out beautifully coloured cocktails from a creative list on ornate silver trays.
The menu consists of bar snacks, Kebabs and Tikkas, Game and Chops, Curry and Biryani and Sabzi (side) dishes. The impressively large-scale menu allows for lots of ordering, and sharing is definitely the way to go here. Highlights are plentiful, but particular stars are the Keralan Moilee Mussels served with Curry Leaf and Garlic Naan – so good we had to order a second naan to soak up the sauce.
Lasooni Wild Tiger Prawns with a Red Pepper Chutney we…

Choccywoccydoohdah - Buy chocolate like never before

Image
Cheval Knightsbridge is close to Choccywoccydoohdah London in Carnaby.
Why it took us so long to talk about this place is beyond our understanding. And we are sorry for that. But if you love chocolate you will forgive us, because this tip is better than winning Willy Wonka's golden ticket.
Choccywoccydoodah is more than just a chocolate shop. This London chocolate emporium has a ground floor shop selling creations to take home today as well as feature pieces to inspire bespoke orders. Heading up one floor there is a chocolate cafe where you can indulge your cravings and at the top of the building there is The Secret Room - a chocolate boudoir that can be booked for private events.
The Shop The exterior of the building is painted black and the interior is all bright red making many raise comparisons and concerns with sex shop styling but this is a chocolate fantasyland.
The Choccywoccydoodah cakes and 'sculptured fantasies' are outrageous in size and style. Everything is kitsch …

Bentleys and James Bond are two of the most British names you can find. Both are full of charm, elegance and history. True British icons.
It is hard not to love them both. And when they get together. is impossible to resist.
Bentley Motors and Vintage Classics are partnering for a 500-copy limited run of James Bond debut “Casino Royale,” pricing the leather-cased copies at £750 apiece.
The Bentley link is in reference to James Bond’s affinity for the performance cars, and Random House furnishes the limited edition accordingly.
Its hand-bound beluga leather case comes from the same tannery as Bentley’s interiors, the metal spine is reminiscent of Bentleys tread plates, and a secret compartment hides a set of playing cards.
