Our trip to City Hall

As many of you are aware, our charity partner for the past 2 years has been ‘The Mayor’s Fund for London’. We were thrilled to be invited to City Hall this month to meet the team and have the opportunity to participate in one of their initiatives.

‘City Pitch’ provides the opportunity for young Londoners to make a difference by pitching their ideas to help their local community as well as develop vital project management and presentation skills in front a panel of expert judges.
After taking our seats we were met with the delightful hosts Matthew and Shante who introduced the judges and contestants including Jamal Edwards MBE, City Pitch Ambassador and SBTV Founder! It was a fantastic occasion to hear more about what ‘The Mayor’s fund for London’ does and the workshops these children are participating in.

We as the audience could vote for our favourite pitch who would receive an additional £200 to further fund their community project. Acton High Secondary School had previously built a garden allotment in their school and donated the fully grown vegetables to soup kitchens to help feed those in need, our other favourite was Manorfield Primary School who wanted to record a music project featuring children singing and playing instruments to welcome and encourage multiculturalism at their school.

During the interlude, we were given to the chance to talk about the wonderful year we had raising £15,935.42 and presented a larger-than-life cheque to this worthy cause! It was great to see how our contribution was helping the people of London.
We can’t wait to raise even more and present an even larger sum on money next year to help even more Young Londoners grow and reach their highest potential. Many thanks to ‘The Mayor’s Fund for London’ for inviting Cheval over and letting us into their fantastic world.
