Best Food Apps for Travelers

Image
From apps that will help travelers find the nearest bar, microbrewery or coffee joint to a guide to chef-recommended restaurants, Travel + Leisure has curated a list of the top food-related apps for the globetrotting gourmand. Among their top picks is Ness , which claims to tailor restaurant recommendations to individual tastes. After users give their rating for 10 restaurants they’ve visited in the past, the app uses an algorithm to determine the user’s personal tastes and preferences before making customized restaurant recommendations. Savored , meanwhile, will appeal to the budget-minded traveler with sophisticated palates as the app offers discounts at dining destinations including Daniel Boulud DB Bistro Moderne in New York. Travelers undertaking culinary pilgrimages — that once-in-a-lifetime experience to an exorbitantly priced Michelin-starred restaurant — can also document their evening on Evernote Food which has built-in templates that let users archive photo...

Louis Vuitton Nomades Collection features folding furniture and travel accessories

Image
Hanging Travel Cabinet; Folding leather chair; Folding leather stool and Hammock crafted with ribbons of leather and rivets gilded with fine gold. Louis Vuitton's travel trunks continue to rule the roost ever since the French luxury brand began manufacturing expensive and well-made steamer trunks in 1854. But with the changing face of travel, Louis Vuitton celebrates Savoir-Faire with its "Objects Nomades" series, a collection of foldable furniture and travel accessories by 11 notable designers and studios. The collection features 16 desirable leather objects for the travel connoisseur, including hanging chairs, lamps, foldable furniture and travel accessories dedicated to the art of travel. Although inspired by travel and the notion of portability, the new Objects Nmades from Louis Vuitton is far removed from the typical pastoral image one gets when imagining a nomadic lifestyle.  The most expensive travel item in the collection is designed by the Brazilian d...

Speed Through Immigration at Heathrow Airport

Image
Photo of Daily Mail According to Daily Mail, UK airports are trying to make passport control a lot quicker and easier for business class travelers. Maybe you're returning home from abrouad or flying in to visit London, but most people are pretty used to irritating lines that can accumulate while passports are being checked. But this problem can be soon in the past, depeding on the value of the flyer.  Business travelers and those of "high value" (probably meaning people important to the British economy) may soon be able to "fast-track" their way through the long lines at border control, given priority access at the busy checkpoint. Officials and port operators are still discussing how they can implement the new plansa, but they probably aren't going to come cheap to the customer. Jumping the queue could cost wealthy flyers 1,800 pounds as part of a bigger service. The moment you step off your plane, you will be fetched via limousine and taken to...

Virgin and Swarovski for your sleep

In an attempt to draw the best of sleeping,   Virgin Atlantic   have collaborated with Swarovski to manufacture the wonderful sleep aid you can admire in the images below. For the passengers, this is supposedly the Most Expensive Night’s Sleep Ever ™ . Virgin Atlantic has decided to manufacture 5 limited editions, each one worth £2,500 .   The five eyeshades feature designs from the classic Wayfarer to the iconic shutter shade that pops up in Kanye West clips. They were intricately manufactured by designer Saima Anwar, with literally thousands of small white, blue and red crystals, taking roughly around 10 hours of work. Every model sports a total of 3,000 Swarovski elements. In addition, a bit of mystery is added to the story, as the eyeshades will be hidden during flights. Five lucky customers will be given the chance to open their amenity kits and be staggered at the glimpse of these superb creations. Recommended by Cheval Residences - Luxury Ser...
