Mercedes-Benz Pop up Drive-Thru

 

From the 14th to the 16th September the Old Selfridges Hotel will host a very unusual pop-up restaurant. Created by The Avant Garde Diaries and curated by Bompas and Parr, the Mercedes- Benz Drive-Thru will be an interdisciplinary art and dining experience in London. All that while sitting in a Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
 
The Avant/Garde diaries says "Get your cup holders and plastic forks ready because in three weeks, The Avant/Garde Diaries will bring its curated event series to London with a food- and car-centric extravaganza. We asked the whimsical and charmingly weird British food artists Sam Bompas and Harry Parr, also known as Bompas & Parr, to curate the festivities. Together with the multidisciplinary collective Jason Bruges Studio, they designed a temporary drive-thru restaurant called - drum roll, please - ""Mercedes Drive-Thru"! From September 14-16, guests can enjoy an extraordinary art and dining experience, featuring a spectacular mix of food, light and fashion. The formerly humdrum act of deciding which size soft drink to guzzle while going 90kmh will morph into an exciting, delicious and signaturely awesome sensory experience."

Cheval Three Quays Marks Remembrance Day with a donation to the British Legion

Crowds gather to witness the nightly ceremony at the Tower of London. To mark the centenary of the end of the First World War, Cheval Three Quays has pledged to donate a week’s profits from two of its apartments facing the Tower of London to the Royal British Legion charitable fund. The Royal British Legion provides lifelong support for the Armed Forces community – serving men and women, veterans and their families. Many of the building’s apartments face directly onto the 1,000 year-old castle, offering a unique perspective of the moving tribute taking place until the 11 th  November, as 10,000 flames are lit in the moat on a nightly basis. The installation, entitled ‘Beyond the Deepening Shadow: The Tower Remembers’, is intended to honour the sacrifice of the many who fell during the four-year conflict.
