Behind the Scenes at Cheval Three Quays - Part 2

Image
Cheval Three Quays is a magnificent place to be. I had the pleasure earlier this month to pay a visit and see how the infrastructure of this unique residence works. I got to see the stunning views, the inner workings and most importantly meet the team behind TripAdvisor’s #1 residence for Speciality Lodging. I spent the afternoon with Ina, House Manager at Cheval Three Quays. As a pivotal member of the founding team, Ina found her feet with Cheval Residences 8 years prior having previously House Managed Cheval Knightsbridge and Cheval Gloucester Park. Ina believes there is never a dull moment in her day to day role and that delivering exception 5 star service is paramount to ensure a growing repeat customer base. The guests do not only come back for the beautifully bespoke Cheval experience but the exceptional service Cheval is renowned for. Ina’s other duty is to keep the building running (so to speak), she is fundamental in relaying messages and ensuring information...

Behind the Scenes at Cheval Three Quays - Part 1

Image
As I approach my one year anniversary at Cheval Residences, I really wanted to learn more about the people behind the face of Cheval Three Quays. Like most of us, I am fascinated by this unique residence and wanted to learn about the personalities that make up the team. I spent the morning with the fabulous Louise, Head Housekeeper at Cheval Three Quays. I have to say I was heartened to see how much attention to detail and love my colleagues invest in their roles. We started the day with a meeting, learning all about manual handling (remember: bend your knees, not your back!) Then we were allocated apartments to clean as well as the ‘job of the day’. It may have been a small job, but it makes all the difference. Today’s task just so happened to be descaling the sink. I realised just how much energy and effort goes into the upkeep of our residences and it was great to see this first hand! I believe it’s the finer details that really do matter. Walls are ‘to...

#TowerPoppies Timeline

Image
From the start of the #TowerPoppies campaign we wanted to create our own memories of this unique event. We have felt a strong bond and connection with the installation and as a lasting memorial have created a timeline chronicling the progress on our Pinterest account here . We feel honoured to observe the progression of 1 poppy to 888,246.

A delicious gathering at Cheval Three Quays

Image
We held a fabulous event in partnership with House of Kooser last night at the glorious Cheval Three Quays! We had sparkling wine, great conversation and delicious nibbles courtesy of John Gregory-Smith! John is a fabulous globetrotting chef inspired by the discovery of new dishes from the far corners of the globe. Get that Friday feeling with this wonderfully spiced burger straight from John’s fantastic new book ‘Mighty Spice Express’. Available now at all good bookshops. The Bosporus Burger SERVES 2 1 small handful of parsley leaves 1 tsp paprika 2 tsp ground cumin ½ tsp ground ginger ½ tsp chilli powder 300g minced beef 1 tbsp olive oil 55g blue cheese 4 tbsp mayonnaise ¼ lemon 2 burger buns 1 handful mixed lettuce leaves sea salt Finely chop the parsley and chuck it into a large mixing bowl. Add the paprika, cumin, ground ginger, chilli powder, minced beef and a really good pinch of salt. Mix everything together really well – I find that squeezing t...

Sunday lunch in Shoreditch.

Image
A quick taxi ride east from Cheval Three Quays will bring you to The Princess of Shoreditch, a refurbished and award winning 270 year old gastro pub in the heart of Old Street. Renowned for their Sunday menu, The Princess offers five choices of roast dinner ranging from Kentish lamb to roasted free range  guinea fowl .  All varieties are served with duck fat potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a delightful Yorkshire pudding topped with gravy. Those with a sweet tooth, the pub also offers a range of classic British deserts including apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding. If in need of some after dinner drinks or a well-deserved break, a lively basement bar operates on a ‘first come’ basis. A quality guest wine rotates monthly with some bottles also being sold at Michelin starred restaurants than other modest gastro pubs. For beer drinkers, three ales are also constantly interchanging. Cheval would recommend The Princess of Shoreditch for a quick catch up with f...

NikeFuel Map - Discover London walking (and earning points!)

Image
All Cheval Residences are in the path of the Nikefuel Map London! London is a beautiful city and with an amazing transport system. Although this two caracteristics are all we look for in a city, sometimes they can get in the way of each other: how can you profit from the outside, if you're inside a tube station? Not to mentioned that it can makes us lazy. Let's be honest, who never got in the tube for a one station ride? Shame on us! That's not very healthy. Thinking about that and how to put more sport into our lives, +Nike  made the NikeFuel Map London. Under the premise that "Life is a sport. Make it count",  Nike have reinvented the London Tube Map to highlight the fitness rewards of walking overground between stations. Download the map here . Nike have assigned each distance its corresponding NikeFuel point score, meaning the relatively short 330m journey from Covent Garden to Leicester Square could either cost you £4.5 in tube fair or ...

Tips to make the perfect Brunch

Image
Cheval Three Quays is going to have the perfect view for a nice brunch! Opening in 2014 Last week we talked about the best places to have Brunch in London . Because it is such a summer-kind of meal, we decided to stay in the subject. Unfortunately, not always the sun comes out on the weekends and we have to face a gray, or even rainy, Saturday and Sunday (which should be forbidden during the Summer). And then we just want to stay in bed... But should this mean no Brunch?? NO!!  So, if you decide to make a delicious Brunch at your own, we can help you with some tips. Remember that in every apartment of Cheval Residences, you can find a fully equipped kitchen!  To make a good Brunch, it is necessary that the products are extremely fresh. A good tip to keep them at the right temperature is to use bowls with ice, which in addition to practical, will make a special touch in your decor. Because it is a junction between two main meals, the Brunch tends to be a...

The best places to enjoy Brunch in London this summer

Image
Duck & Waffle Cheval Three Quays  is close to Duck & Waffle Restaurant.  Brunch -  is a meal eaten between breakfast and lunch, and is a substitute for both these meals. The word is a portmanteau of breakfast and lunch. Now THAT'S what we call a fantastic invention.  Brunch is a ritual that fits summer perfectly. Either on Saturday to start the weekend or on Sunday for a late breakfast after a night out, brunch is a moment to relax and enjoy the best of the weekend. Here are some of the best places to have brunch in London: Caravan , Clerkenwell Caravan offers a weekend brunch menu to rival any in London in a relaxed and effortlessly cool setting on Exmouth Market in Clerkenwell. The New Zealand influenced restaurant has its own coffee roaster, so flat whites are very popular too.  The open plan layout and double facing glassed front make this an ideal location for enjoying a vibrant part of London.  Caravan has a second outpost ...
